ICoSTAS 2026 Conference

The International Conference on Sustainable Green Tourism Applied Science 2026 (ICoSTAS 2026) is the second international conference organized by Politeknik Negeri Bali. The conference serves as a platform for researchers, academics, industry practitioners, and policymakers to present and exchange ideas, research findings, and technological innovations related to sustainable development and green tourism from the perspective of applied science.

Presented Papers Will be Submitted to

All submitted manuscripts will undergo a peer-review process. Papers that are accepted and presented at the conference will be considered for publication in the Atlantis Press proceedings. In addition, high-quality papers demonstrating strong academic contributions, novelty, and practical impact will be nominated for the Best Paper Award.

ICoSTAS 2026 consists of two main conference tracks that reflect interdisciplinary perspectives in sustainable development.

Conference Tracks

1. ICoSTAS Engineering Applied Science (EAS)

This track focuses on engineering, technological innovation, and applied science solutions that support sustainability and green tourism development.

Topics of Interest 

Authors are invited to submit papers in the following areas (but not limited to):

  • Sustainable and green construction 
  • Green and environmentally friendly materials 
  • Applied Low Technology (Low-Tech) solutions 
  • Sustainable and renewable energy technology 
  • IoT-based green technology applications 
  • Artificial Intelligence (AI) and automation technologies 
  • Information technology and digital systems 
  • Green manufacturing and sustainable production

2. ICoSTAS Social Applied Science (SAS)

This track focuses on the social, economic, managerial, and policy aspects of sustainable tourism and green development.

Submissions are welcome in areas including, but not limited to:

  • Green management and business administration 
  • Sustainable tourism based on culture and environmental conservation 
  • Green accounting and taxation 
  • Digital business, management, and society 
  • E-learning and education innovation 
  • Community-based sustainable development

  • Sustainable governance and policy innovation

Post-Conference Journal Publication Opportunity

After the conference, the Steering Committee (SC) will evaluate all presented papers and select those that demonstrate strong research quality and contribution. Selected authors will be invited to improve and expand their conference papers for possible journal publication. 

To qualify for journal submission, the revised manuscript must meet the following requirements:

  • The improved paper must contain 6–10 pages, exceeding the original conference paper length of 4–6 pages. 
  • The revised manuscript must include at least 30% improvement in the abstract and overall content. 
  • The title must be different from the original conference paper title. 
  • Authors must submit a summary of revisions explaining the differences between the conference version and the improved manuscript.

Authors will have one month after the conference to submit the revised manuscript to the Steering Committee. The committee will forward the submission to the relevant journal editorial board, where the manuscript will undergo an additional peer-review process before a final publication decision is made.

Editorial Policy

The editorial team will first verify the suitability of submitted manuscripts based on the conference guidelines. Articles must be written in English, follow the official template, and have a length of 6–10 pages. 

 Only articles that have been presented at ICoSTAS 2026 will be considered for publication. Each manuscript must pass a plagiarism screening with a similarity index below 20% and will undergo a double-review process conducted by two reviewers. 

 After authors revise their manuscripts based on reviewer feedback, the revised versions will be re-evaluated by the reviewers. Only papers that successfully pass the review and revision stages will proceed to the final editorial and publication process.

Plagiarism Screening Policy

To maintain academic integrity, plagiarism checks will be conducted twice during the publication process: 

1.  Initial Screening – performed when the article is first submitted.

2. Final Screening – conducted after the author submits the revised manuscript. 

The editorial team will use iThenticate to perform plagiarism detection. Only manuscripts with a similarity index below 20% will be eligible for publication in the conference proceedings.

Conference Venue

ICoSTAS 2026 will be held at Politeknik Negeri Bali, Indonesia, on October 9–10, 2026. 

The conference will gather international participants to foster collaboration, promote interdisciplinary research, and support sustainable development through innovations in applied science and green tourism.
